Who are we?

Prof. Leonardo De Lucca, PhD is a dedicated and accomplished public servant for the state of Santa Catarina, currently serving as a Sports Analyst at the Santa Catarina Sports Foundation (FESPORTE). 

In this role, I contribute to the Management of Sports Projects and the Santa Catarina Sports Incentive Program (PIE)

Academically, i hold a degree in Physical Education from UDESC, a specialization in Family Health from UFSC, and both a Master’s and a Doctorate in Human Movement Sciences from UDESC. 

My  professional experience includes serving as an undergraduate professor in Physical Education at Faculdade Porto das Águas in 2010 and at the University of Southern Santa Catarina (UNISUL) from 2015 to 2019.

In addition to my academic roles, I've held key positions such as Project and Fundraising Advisor, Director of Administration and Finance, Scientific and Technological Management Assistant, and Technology and Innovation Manager at FAPESC.

I was a futsal athlete from the age of 10 to 23, competing in the the under-20 category at the state of Santa Catarina - Brazil. 

From 2003 to 2008, I also represented the State University of Santa Catarina in university-level competitions.

In 2011, i transitioned into coaching, serving as the physical trainer for the under-15 and under-17 teams of a futsal team called "Colegial" in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil.

From 2015 to 2019, i shared my expertise as a Professor of Soccer and Futsal in the Physical Education program at the University of Southern Santa Catarina (UNISUL).

In 2024, i successfully defended my doctoral thesis, titled "Relationship Between Changes in Aerobic and Anaerobic Fitness with Internal Training Load Metrics During the Preseason in Professional Male Futsal Players." This research underscores my commitment to advancing the understanding of sports science, particularly in the context of futsal training and performance.

As a researcher, i specialized in exercise physiology and sports training, with a focus on evaluating and monitoring training and competition loads in athletes of intermittent team sports. 

I intend to bridge the gap between scientific research and practical application, making significant contributions to the field of sports science.
